Customer Monitoring records data about user activity in the store and allows you to monitor customer activity in the administration panel. The collected data is also used by features that support customer shopping experiences, such as Recently Viewed Products, Followed Products, and Returning User Recognition.
In the administration panel, go to Applications → Customer Monitoring
This option enables customer activity monitoring and extended methods for identifying returning users. Once enabled, the system stores information about user activity in the store. The data is used to display the “Customer Activity” widget, activity reports, and to identify returning users. Enabling this option increases the effectiveness of recognizing returning customers.
How long the system should recognize a customer's return visits to the store.
The Customer Activity widget presents current user activity in the store. It displays customer visits from the last 30 minutes and the current number of users in the store.
Additionally, the widget displays:
The number of views is displayed next to each product. The list allows you to quickly check which products attract the most customer interest.
At the bottom of the widget, there is a View Full Activity Report link, which opens a detailed customer activity report from the last 24 hours.
If the monitoring system has not collected any data yet, the widget displays a message informing the user that there is no data to present.
If customer monitoring is disabled, the widget does not display any data and shows an appropriate informational message.
The customer activity report presents detailed data about user behavior in the store from the last 24 hours.
At the top of the report, there is a chart titled User Activity from the Last 24 Hours, showing the estimated number of active users in each hour.
The report is divided into two data summaries.
