The release of version 8 and changes in the SOTE offer have aroused great interest and numerous questions from our customers. Therefore, in order to help our customers understand what the changes are, we answer the most frequently asked questions.

Do I have access to SOTESHOP 8 with access to the store update in version 7?

Yes. If the store has active access to updates, it can update the store to version 8 as part of the existing service.

Why don't I see the option to update to version 8 in the update panel?

This option will be made available to existing version 7 users after October 18th.

Will modifications for version 7 work after updating to version 8?

If programming modifications were made to the version 7 store, you should contact us before updating to version 8. Such an update will certainly be possible, but may require adapting existing modifications to the new version.

Does updating to version 8 mean switching to a subscription plan?

No. Existing users can still - until the end of 2021 - purchase the service: Access to updates and service for 1 year, which we will provide until the end of 2022. If Access to updates and service for one store ends during 2022, e.g. in May 2022, it can purchase this service in 2021 for a shortened period, e.g. May-December 2022.

Will the Access to updates and service for 1 year service be available in the 2022 offer?

No. From 2022 we will offer our customers to switch to a subscription package. Those customers who purchased Access to updates and service for 1 year before the end of 2021 will be able to use it in 2022.

I have a purchased a perpetual license for the store, do I have to switch to a subscription package?

No. As long as we offer the Access to updates and service for 1 year service, you can purchase it and use it for another year on the same terms. Later we encourage you to switch from a perpetual license to a subscription package, as we will provide further program updates and service within these packages.

What is the difference between a subscription and an access to updates service?As part of the subscription, we provide more updates and new features. This is a continuous service, it cannot be purchased from time to time, it is a monthly or annual subscription. The service in the standard version is not more expensive than the current Update and Service Access service. We offer the subscription in 3 different packages, in the Pro and VIP versions customers receive additional options.

I have a store that currently uses Webapi, if I decide to subscribe, do I have to choose the SOTESHOP Pro package?

No. Webapi is available in Pro and VIP options, but this does not apply to current SOTESHOP users. Previous users also have this option available in the Standard package.

Are all WebStore add-ons free in the SOTESHOP PRO package?

Yes. Not only those currently in Webstore, but also those that we will release in the future as part of Webstore Pro.

I have bought various additional applications from Webstore in recent years, can I count on a discount if I decide to choose the SOTESHOP Pro package?

Yes, if applications from Webstore were installed in the store in the past, we will offer a special price with a discount for the SOTESHOP Pro package.

If I have programming modifications done in my store, do I have to choose the VIP package?

No. Previously performed modifications do not determine the choice of package.

What does it mean that only the VIP package has modifications available?

Only shops with the VIP package will be able to order programming modifications from us. This is related to the fact that the service and technical support for such shops is much more time-consuming, as it covers not only the standard version of the program, but also all changes added as part of the modifications and issues related to adapting these changes to subsequent updates. Graphic modifications are not subject to these rules and are available to every store.

Can I switch from the VIP or Pro package to the Standard package?

Yes. However, this is associated with adapting the store to the standard version, e.g. removing additional applications and other additional services, so it will be associated with a fee for the change.
